Restructuring a Complex Web Ecosystem

The Challenge
Years of growth had left SNMMI.org split across several semi-independent microsites.Years of growth had left SNMMI.org split across several semi-independent microsites. Key articles lived in multiple places, older pages contradicted newer ones, and on-site search regularly returned confusing or outdated results. For members, simply finding the most current guideline or event information felt like navigating a maze; for staff, maintaining duplicate sites consumed countless hours and obscured ownership of critical content. Compounding these issues, an aging visual style—originally built for a single site—no longer represented SNMMI’s cutting-edge work or its diverse audience. SNMMI needed a single, coherent web presence with a refreshed look and feel that could be managed efficiently inside its iMIS RiSE content-management system.TGD began by conducting a full content audit, cataloging more than 6,000 pages across every SNMMI web property. Through careful analytics reviews and stakeholder interviews with board members and IT staff, we mapped a new, intuitive information architecture that grouped resources the way members actually search for them. In parallel, we collaborated with the internal marketing team to help standardize brand application… developing a flexible color-bar system that expanded opportunities for content differentiation and specialty sections while preserving a unified identity. Behind the scenes, our team worked hand-in-hand with SNMMI staff and external vendors to identify data that could be automated and integrated, easing future maintenance and reducing the risk of inconsistency.

Solutions
The engagement produced a completely restructured site map,The engagement resulted in a completely restructured site map, a modern responsive design system, and a more focused iMIS/RiSE-powered website that houses all content. At the same time, automated feeds now keep event calendars, news feeds, and council rosters up-to-date with minimal effort.

Results
Internal help-desk tickets labeled “can’t find X” dropped sharply, and the team reported that staff greatly appreciated the simplified site structure and page layouts. With one authoritative site, a cohesive visual identity, and streamlined technology, SNMMI now delivers a clearer, faster path to information for the specialists who rely on it every day.
