In preparation for its 75th anniversary, the Association for the Advancement of Blood & Biotherapies (AABB), an organization at the forefront of advancing transfusion medicine and cellular therapies, sought to promote its proud legacy while looking boldly toward the future.

They needed a modern, cohesive commemorative campaign that would celebrate their rich history, reinforce their leadership in the field, and engage a broad audience, from medical professionals to donors and patients.

The Challenge

With a wealth of resources and decades of achievements,With a wealth of resources and decades of achievements, AABB sought to honor their 75th anniversary with an exciting and engaging promotional campaign. Fresh off of a successful renaming and rebranding effort led by TGD, the new brand identity was a perfect launch point for initiating this historical engagement. This anniversary campaign needed to add excitement and draw attention in a complementary way to the newly developed parent brand.

Key elements of the rebranding included:

  • 75th Anniversary Branding: Special anniversary branding was created to commemorate this milestone and was integrated throughout their communications and marketing efforts.
  • Commemorative Collateral: We developed a cohesive set of collateral materials to promote the anniversary including coffee mugs, t-shirts, hats, and a lovely little 75th anniversary commemorative pin.
  • Detailed Timeline: We worked closely with the AABB staff to compile a stunningly beautiful 75th anniversary timeline, featuring key milestones and achievements.
  • Video: A video tribute for the 75th anniversary was produced in conjunction with a rollout for the new AABB brand as a way to maximize the impact of the two initiatives. The video was presented at the keynote speech of the 2023 AABB Annual Meeting.
