Project/Production Manager
TGD Communications is a fast paced, Design/Advertising firm seeking an individual to manage our intricate projects. The position includes scheduling and planning, tracking, estimating and supervision, and client contact. We need an enthusiastic, self-motivated, and organized problem solver with excellent communication and people skills and experience working with designers, deadlines, and budgets.
Must be able to work independently on multiple projects and must be able to identify potential project risk areas through collaboration with technical and creative teams before projects reach crisis mode.
Experience in media planning and buying a plus.
Must have experience with the following:
- Managing production (not just facts and numbers, but working with staff and clients as well)
- Knowledge of FileMaker
- Working directly with clients
- Some understanding of Web design and programming to assist with scheduling in that arena
Responsibilities include:
Chairing the weekly production meeting
- Keep staff on schedule and identify jobs that are lagging and those that are completed
- Adjust resources and schedules to meet deadlines
- Interact with clients as needed on the status of jobs
Studio Manager Tracking Software:
- Open jobs and close jobs; check job costs
- Manage the FileMaker database
- Produce and monitor schedules
- Serve as back up for estimating
Media:
- Research, planning, and buying
- Present media plans to clients - in formats as dictated by client or media
- Analyze results
Vendor relations:
- Estimating, negotiating, and scheduling; keep vendors on budget and deadline
- Direct mail: schedule and supervise mailings, USPS interface, list and postage check coordination
- Detailed purchase orders to vendors
- Forge long-term relationships and trouble shoot when there are problems
- Quality control
- Review invoices for accuracy
Marketing and new business:
- Monitor schedules and provide assistance as needed
- Editing as needed
